About Us

At FCLC Edinburgh, our core values are at the heart of everything we do.
From the very first moment we speak with a client or parent we want to provide the best experience possible. Those values also guide our programme with our carefully chosen team on hand to ensure our students have a positive, rewarding and fun stay.
Core values
Fettes College is a unique and inspiring location, just 2 miles from Edinburgh Castle. The city has grown around the college since it was founded in 1870, and the main building at the centre of our 100-acre campus dominates Edinburgh's skyline.
FCLC is a subsidiary of Fettes College, which means that we can make full use of the college’s facilities, and the meals we have over the summer are prepared and served by the same staff that look after the college’s students during the academic year.
Within the expansive school grounds, there is a wide range of facilities including:
- 100-acres of private grounds
- A mixture of traditional and modern boarding houses
- Tennis courts
- Large dining hall
- Indoor & outdoor basketball courts
- Drama studio
- Theatre
- Beautiful chapel
- Rugby & football pitches
- Dance studio
- Art studio
- Multi-purpose sports centre
- Bright and modern classrooms
Additionally, group leaders get a full membership to Westwoods, Fettes College's own on-campus health club, for the duration of their stay.
Although the programme is only in operation for six weeks each summer, we have a team of year-round staff who will gladly answer any questions you may have and will guide you through the booking process.
As we are an independent school with only one location, we can give personalised service to all our clients, and you will be in contact with the same people all year. Our year-round team includes:
- Greg Burrell, General Manager
- Jay Buckham, Head of Digital Marketing & Design (Fettes College, Fettes Prep & Fettes Enterprises
- Fraser Hutchon, Operations Lead
In addition to our year-round team, we have a large number of staff who work with us only in summer, including an Operations Manager and two residential Student Welfare Managers, who are available 24/7, and activity leaders, who live in the boarding houses alongside the students. Additionally, our Academic Manager and Academic Supervisor lead a team of qualified teachers who present interesting and challenging lessons based on our weekly themes and excursions.
Additionally, the FCLC team is supported by the Fettes College non-teaching staff, who work throughout the summer to provide 24/7 on-campus security, keep the grounds and buildings in perfect condition, prepare and serve meals in the dining hall and keep the boarding houses, classrooms and public spaces clean. All the Fettes staff work together to ensure our students have a wonderful time on our programme.
